mtl o's

3 more days to mtl o levels. today was the last day of mtl intensive and I'm so happy to know that I've improved a lot over this one week.

as many of you may know I'm not really good in my chinese and I don't speak chinese at home. I only speak in chinese when I have to and also with some of my friends because somehow chinese sounds more like casual?? when talking with friends. it was a surprise to me when I got 33/40 for my sa1 chinese compo. never have I ever gotten anything above 30 for chinese compo ever.

and to top it off, I got a b4 (almost a b3) for my chinese. I've been working really hard these days and there was a gradual improvement!!!! like I started getting high 30s and then to 40s and eventually for one of the easy papers I got a 52/70 for paper 2 hahahaha.

I realise there's really no use panicking because if you didn't study, it's your own fault. I'm not really scared for my o's this monday but more of worried whether I can get an a2/b3 for it. seeing the gradual improvement, I'm now so much more confident in the language...like really lolol. improvement is like the best motivator, not even like small gifts or anything. whenever I see an improvement in my work I get motivated.

I hope this monday's papers will be manageable and that I'll do well for them!!!!

wimbly lu

went to a quaint cafe in the north-east region of sg with my bestie, clarissa for desserts. we went to wimbly lu, one of singapore's top cafes known for their rootbeer cake as well as their salted caramel ice cream. i think it's funny how we didn't order their best-sellers because we didn't think it was worth it. it was a good choice, because the other desserts were truly the underdogs of the cafe.

we were seated at the worst seat in the cafe.....it was just this glass table and a bench, and we were overlooking the other customers in the cafe. anyway, we ordered our desserts and as the couple in front of us left, we decided to change seats. so much more comfortable.

the food sold in wimbly lu is surprisingly affordable! our total bill amounted to about $30 and we ordered four items. the desserts range from $5-$15.

my most-liked picture on instagram. obviously....instagrammers love pictures like these and furthermore, it's from wimbly lu so a lot of people will like it just because.

ordered the double seafood and cheese toasty melts (basically toast bread lmao), lemon meringue pie, molten lava cake as well as chamomile tea. the lemon meringue pie is only sold on weekends, we didn't actually know this until we looked at the menu.

best dish of the day was definitely the molten lava cake. the moment you break the top of the cake, you can see the warm molten chocolate inside it. it won't flow out because it's in a bowl.

i loved the toast as well, had 3 while clarissa only had 1 haha. however, i'm not really a fan of the lemon meringue pie because i'm not a fruit dessert person. (does this even make any sense?)

it was also my first time trying chamomile tea with the influence of clarissa. i wanted to try their latte to see if their coffee was of standard but didn't.

one thing that really ticked me off was the service. it was okay but most of the time, people were forgetting my requests and i also saw a waiter rushing a group of ladies out....i understand that there is a queue but i think the customers who're already inside should get to enjoy and chill, y'know?

had a good time with my best friend. although i don't think i'll come all the way to jalan riang just for this again. the walk down was agonizing under the annoying drizzle and furthermore, it really wasn't that fantastic nor did it make an impact. well, everything has to be experienced once anyway!

i'll be back with more posts but for now, adios
